This was for a market making Quant Researcher position.
If you care about your career as a quant, I *strongly advise against applying*. I initially applied because I saw potential in Revolut internalising their flow—a move that could create a unique and impactful opportunity. Unfortunately, the interview process was so poorly structured that it made me question not only the role but the company as a whole.
While top firms are actively recruiting Math Olympiad medalists and candidates with deep quantitative expertise, Revolut has chosen to filter experienced quantitative researchers using generic, consulting-style case interviews. The interviewer I spoke with was unprofessional, visibly unprepared, and clearly lacked both interviewing experience and domain knowledge. When I asked clarifying questions about the case study, he seemed confused and even defensive.
Not a single question was relevant to the actual responsibilities of the role. The whole process felt like a waste of time and a red flag for anyone serious about working in quantitative finance.
