The interview process was odd. I recommend keeping this company as a backup choice unless you're someone straight out of undergrad applying for an analyst role. Those start at 80K, which is NOT bad at all if you have just a bachelors.
Anything higher than an analyst requires arguing why you meet the criteria (e.g., years of employment). I felt they would do anything possible to bump you down and pay you less. The culture felt extremely toxic when I interviewed in person, which led me to ultimately turn them down.
Each phone call with Maria started with "good news, bad news." Which included them wanting to bump me down from a consultant to an analyst.
During my interview, I felt a strong "CYA" among the staff to not say anything that could be repeated in a bad light to leadership. One employee told me you'll potentially end up working in parts of the company that you were not hired for (e.g., "HR" if you were hired as a consultant). Another said the CEO tells the employees when other folks make an offer to acquire his company, which again, is toxic.
Typical phone screen with recruiter but was immediately moved to the final stage which was a take-home case. Very interesting process. You have to complete it within 24 hours and discuss results with the interviewer. Complete waste of time. Had nothing to do with the engagement. I have no clue what kind of work the firm does. This information was so intentionally vague.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rios Partners (Arlington, VA)
Interview
Initial behavioral interview with recruiter with typical behavioral situational questions, then a case interview a week after with a partner and a manager. Case was given on a Wednesday then you had to submit a memo on your findings within 24 hours then you went over your findings in depth with the partner and manager to talk through how you assessed the data analytically and some of your conclusions
