I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Rivian in Sep 2021
Interview
I passed 7 hrs total of interviewing and spoke to the director of engineering. I did very well. All feedback I received hinted at a job offer in the works. Then the HR person started stringing me along telling me to follow up with him every 2 weeks as they are 'reviewing headcount'. This went on for almost 2 months before I got the hint and stopped asking. Note to Rivian: If there is no position anymore just inform the candidate instead of wasting everyone's time. Now 8 months later the lead of the team I interviewed with started messaging me on Linked In. No chance in hell will I work for a company that disrespected my time like that. Clear & honest communication in an interview process goes a long way if you want to keep the door open with potential candidates.
They asked me questions about my career and skills and i answered them and then they asked more questions and then i answered those too. yes i did mhmm for sure i did
Started with a call from a recruiter asking me about my resume. 2 weeks later got invited to a panel with multiple interviews with different engineering leads. Mostly behavioral questions with some technical questions.
3 rounds, fairly quick process. Recruiting was very helpful and polite. Mix of technical and behavioral questions. Left feeling like I had a good idea of what the job would be like (rotational program for new grads.)
