Recruiter called me shortly after I submitted my online application and left a voicemail and also sent an email saying he wanted to talk with me about my application. We played phone tag for a day. When we finally connected, he told me the job was filled, but that he wanted to encourage me to keep applying. Unclear if that was his original intention on calling me or not. I went back and listened to the voicemail and email he had originally sent, and they both seemed to indicate I was being regarded as a viable candidate. Came away confused-- was I dropped as a candidate because I couldn't reach him right away? Recruiter sounded very young-- an intern who confused me for another candidate or who didn't get the script right? It's a great company, so I'm hoping to apply again. Next time, I'll watch for the phone call a week or so after applying and jump on the call!

I was interviewed over the phone for multiple positions. I was not aware that I was interviewing for more than one position and it made it a little difficult to narrow down my focus. They asked me to give a salary expectation despite the fact that they had told me nothing about the position(s) I was interviewing for. The questions mostly revolved around why I had left my previous roles. A week after the phone interview I was called to be informed they went with a different candidate.
