Step one: I was referred to by a family member. I got a call from a recruiter telling me to fill out some information. Which was no problem at all but due to the fact that I had little to none banking experiance I was interested in learning more about the positing. I agreed to come in and meet with my recruiter. Step two: Going into the building was a little more time consuming than I thought. I arrived half and hour early and got into the actual meeting room a minute late. I dressed professional just incase (thinking that this was an informal meeting). Turns out it was an actual interview with a mock call and everything. My recruited didn't mention that this was a professional interview... Anyways I went ahead and did the best that I could with what I had. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE COMPANY! Step three: Moved on to talk to the sr. directer of banking (which I was told was only a team leader) Shadowed one of his bankers. I really did enjoy the fast paced environment. I sat down and spoke with the director and found that we had some similarities.. though in different fields I felt like we really connected. The only think I recommend is to pretend you have banking experience... They say they will train you but they want you to already have knowledge of it. Step four: Got a call back from recruiter telling me that I did not get the job and that the director chose a different candidate due to my lack of experience in the banking field. Advice: Do your research! Be knowledgeable about banking and you are in!
