Initial application form/CV submission followed by three online tests: numerical reasoning, in-mail exercise and personality questionnaire. Received an invitation to the assessment centre in Derby soon after I found out that I had succeeded in the online tests.
The assessment centre was split into three phases: a presentation/competency interview, a technical interview and then a group exercise. The event lasted a half-day and did not include a repeat of online testing; in previous years, repeat tests were included as the event ran across a full working day.
Overall, the event was really enjoyable considering it was the first assessment centre I'd done before: the assessors made you feel welcome and genuinely wanted you to do your best (even if some of the exercises were tricky). My advice is to just be yourself and make friends with the other candidates - really helps speed up the whole assessment centre experience. Make sure that you are well-read with regards to recent news and the direction the company is heading in: you're assessed on your knowledge of the company so the Rolls-Royce website is a great starting point for preparation.
