      Manager Interview

      Jul 26, 2014

      No offer

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Rosetta Stone

      Interview

I applied online and the process took 3 months - process started in April with final interview June 2014. I have had 10 interviews with everyone asking same questions - at some stage I was looking interest in the interviews. Very unprofessional company and looking at the reviews - i agree the company discriminate. One of my interviewers ask me how old I am, about my nationality questions unrelated to the job!!!! They are very slow in the recruitment process, and the communication is very poor. I haven't hear from the company after the final interview, had to approach senior lever manager pointing out how unprofessional their recruitment team is. With in a week I get some lazy respond. Considering to make a claim for discrimination!!!! I wouldn't recommend Rosetta Stone, after the interview process it seems the company is in a bad shape, no structure, implemented the mobile solution really late. AVOID

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Rosetta Stone (Arlington, VA) in Oct 2009

      Interview

First piece of advice: know someone at the company. I applied via their website 4 weeks prior to a referral from a friend of a friend. Got a response from my referral application within 1 day. In October 2009, I had an interview with the recruiter via phone that was rather simple. Asked me about my background, run-down of my resume, and some basic "this is what we need, how can you fit" questions. Next round was a Skype interview with the manager of the group, which got much more technical and behavioral. Still not a highly difficult interview, but she definitely knew what she was looking for. Be prepared in these interviews to relate your past experience to the position and get into depth with behavioral questions. The 2nd interviewer was not at all engaged through the interview though, tapping her foot and typing on her computer. In a Skype interview, it is obvious when someone is doing other work since the camera is right in their face! I reached out 3 weeks later, with no news, to find out that I had done swimmingly but that they were working through logistics. Recruiter asked me to check back in 2 weeks. Looped in again, no news. I waited until 4 weeks ago to reach back out a final time but this time no response. Recruiter has disappeared. So after a 4 month interview process, contact has been cut without even a declined note (which i would prefer). If this is how they handle recruiting, I am nervous how they would treat an employee they don't need to worry about impressing.
