      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Rosetta Stone (Arlington, VA) in Jan 2011

      Interview

This interview process was absolutely insane. It took me MONTHS to be hired and, in the end, I was hired for an entirely different position than I had applied for, which I had been previously found unqualified. All of that because I didn't have experience with a system only Rosetta Stone (and very few other companies) used. That same system has since been bought up by another company and no longer exists, but apparently it was really important to someone in HR. I went through 2 phone screenings, 2 in-person interviews with 2 different hiring managers, 2 panel interviews, 1 Top Grading (exceptionally thorough review of my resume), and 1 interview with a VP. I imagine that it was so long since I, in essence, was interviewed for two different positions, one of which I was later hired for. Cut that in half, and that IS the standard hiring process. Working with HR was equally painful - short notice on interviews and then no word for weeks at a time, even when I proactively contacted. HR is a mess. If you're looking for a job with Rosetta Stone, I hope that you're patient. Also, whatever their first offer is - ask for more. They always hold out.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Oddly, despite all of those interviews - nothing surprising: * why do you want to work here * explain your experience in detail * what would you do in this situation...
