      Senior Marketing Manager Interview

      Jan 25, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Rover.com (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

I had a good experience with the interview process at Rover; it was very thorough and I had the opportunity to talk to at least 12 people (including the COO) throughout the process. My interview loop included 2 one-on-one phone interviews (one with the direct hiring manager, and one with a key stakeholder), a marketing assessment (in the form of a scenario-based presentation), and two half-day on-site interviews (two, only because the first role I interviewed for wasn't the best fit). Rover is a very data-driven company, so bringing specific examples of times where I used data to solve problems and how I developed measurement approaches was helpful. One interviewer even asked me to interpret a histogram! It was a long interview process (I wasn't necessarily looking to leave my job, so I was more interested in finding a role that was the right fit) but the hiring manager did a great job keeping in touch with me, providing status updates, and making sure that I was well-prepared to speak to topics that might come up in various interviews.
