I applied to both of the local Ruth's Chris restaurants. For the first one (uptown), I first submitted my resume and cover letter online, in response to a posting on Craigslist. I never received a response, so I printed out the application and submitted it, as well as my resume and cover letter, in person. The lady who answered the door kindly said she'd give it to her manager. Some time later, I did receive a phone call from a manager there who called to set up an interview. I called back and couldn't get in touch with her. I tried again multiple times. The last time, I called the manager at the time I was told to call back, and another woman told me, somewhat sternly, that the manager would basically call me back when she had time. I never heard back from her after, and I did not reach out again. This process took about 2-3 weeks. For the second location, I just turned in the application in person, received a phone call for an interview, interviewed, and received the job offer all within one week. I do want to say thanks to the second location (South Park) for being prompt and for giving me a chance.
