      Digital Demand Executive Interview

      Jan 10, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Barcelona
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SAP (Barcelona) in Oct 2020

      Interview

      1) First HR call interview, simple questions. 2) 45 min video interview with hiring manager - about motivation for the job, what is the job? why SAP? etc. no trick questions - what is SAP? which solutions? make sure you understand their new IE strategy. 3) after being successful, I had 3-4 days to prepare a business case to present on next video interview (with same hiring manager). 4 questions testing your business acumen skills: - What is SAP's intelligent enterprise strategy? - What are the main interest points and KPIs of a CEO, CFO, Sales director? - How does SAP help these personas to achieve their priorities? - Choose a customer/company and have a 5 min pitch on SAP solutions to the CFO. What can we offer to their company? Keep the conversation to a business level 4) video interview with 2 more senior managers: 1 hour interview questions about motivation, why this job? why sales? why tech? why would you want to work at SAP long-term? Convince us of a long-term commitment you made in your life? Do you like being on the phone? Alot of questions of motivation - it was a very unpleasant interview. One of the manager's seemed to make fun and laugh about some of my answers throughout the interview. I felt very intimidated - she even told me at some point of the interview: "you know, I interview many candidates, and I can feel when they are being honest and not. I don't believe you still". During the interview, both managers were sometimes talking between themselves, like I didn't exist - I found it very rude. At the end of the interview, I felt very disappointed by the way I was treated during the conversation, but I blamed it on the fact that this was a typical "sales" interview where they test your limits. 5) Since the last interview didn't convince me of my commitment to stay long-term within SAP, they scheduled another interview -45 min with same people. One of the managers was cooking while interviewing me - total lack of respect. There I realised that it was not just due to the "typical sales" interview, but those people just felt superior and showed disrespect towards me.. even though I was the one spending much time and effort in preparing well for all interviews. After this last call, I didn't receive any update of my application, even after sending several emails to the hiring manager, who normally answered straight away while I was in the process. I found it again, very disrespectful attitude, especially after spending 5 interviews. Only after 1 month and 1 week, the hiring manager answered me that they would pursue with another candidate. Overall, very disappointing and unpleasant experience. The job search and interviewing process is already difficult and stressful enough, so this is really not necessary. Total lack of respect. This company, or at least the people in that team, really treat you just like a number, a not like a human being. In the end, I am happy that I do not work for this company. I am not planning on applying anymore either, although I was very enthusiastic about it. Would not recommend.
