I applied online. I interviewed at SEC in Jul 2020
Interview
One month after submitting my application, I was asked to submit a short writing sample in response to a question that they posed, then I waited another month before I was invited to a "technical" interview. Then I waited another month before I was invited to a "fit" interview. After the final interview, they said they would get back to me in a few weeks, but it instead took 3 additional months, even as I followed up to check-in multiple times when they kept assuring me that hiring decisions were still ongoing. It was stressful to be led on like that, especially when you are job hunting during these stressful covid times.
Please do better, SEC. You have eager people who fundamentally believe in your mission and want to work with you, don't treat them so poorly. It is not professional. If you know you are not going to hire someone, please let them know in a reasonable time frame. This experience turned me off from working for the Commission in the future.
