I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SLB (Paris) in May 2022
Interview
The interview happened online.
For an entire day I was required to a virtual group assessment. We were asked to prepare a 3 min 1 slide presentation. about a previous engineering subject or project.
Day was split in two parts
1st part : we did logic, math and mechanical engineering test (mechanical is a big word for this test they should call it mechanical logic test)
We were 4, with 2 recruiters
They showed us vidéo about Slb and explained us how it works in the company.
They randomly asked questions like, what can you tell me about Slb... So be well informed.
Before having a break to eat, they told us we had to add 2 slides to our presentation to answer these questions :
-Present yourself, list you 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses
- Why do you want to be a Slb FE? things you like and don't like about the job.
So I updated my presentation while eating.
2nd part : We did a group game. Just remember that the goal is not to win the game but to show how well you interact with others.
We listened to everybody's presentation
Then we all had a 1 to 1 interview which was more a discussion than anything else.
-do you know what FE do?
-do you understand they work irregular hours?
-what segments are you interested in?
+ I did a small mechanical test
Few days after they told me I had good results and I did a 2nd interview with 3 managers,
I had to redo my presentation + same questions about me
No technical question but I was asked if I knew the difference between 2 technical lines, I did so I they told me to chose the one I wanted.
You have to let them know that :
-You KNOW what you are getting yourself in
-You WANT this job
-You are FULLY mobile and they can send you wherever they want
They want someone flexible, with energy, enthousiasm, someone who is hungry and eager to learn.
They will try to know how you deal with fatigue and sleep deprivation so have true examples in mind.
1st round interview included short technical question, and telling about myself and the projects I worked on.
Not difficult/or hard, but just need to explain well enough to tell the logic process
It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions
