I applied online. I interviewed at STERIS (Mentor, OH) in Jan 2020
Interview
I was emailed by an HR representative to schedule a phone interview for the customer representative job, after a few days, the representative called me and asked normal behavioral interview questions, then she promptly informed me that she would look into my background and inform me within 48 hours in regards to the job, I waited a week and no information was given, I emailed that same representative and no answer was given, I called and left a voicemail and no information was given. Today, after over a month has passed I received an email from STERIS thanking me for my application but that they had unfortunately selected someone with better qualifications. Its unprofessional to let a candidate know that they were not selected for a position a MONTH after their initial interview.

Question 1
What makes you a great fit for the company and why would you like to work for Steris?
Redundant and lacking in structure. There was never a clear agenda communicated and the same questions were asked across three different people. I asked several concrete questions of all three interviewers and none could give me a clear answer.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at STERIS in Mar 2024
Interview
I applied directly and received a response quickly requesting me to set up a 30 minute screening call. After that call, I was moved onto the next stage of video interviewing. Though things seemed positive (I specifically asked for feedback after my interview), no one contacted me after the process to provide an update on the application process, nor to tell me I would not be moving on. It's unprofessional to ghost candidates who take time to apply, prepare, and meet with hiring partners. Do better.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had a challenging sales experience and how you overcame obstacles to achieve a positive outcome?
This was a very long process that took over 2 months. The interview process consisted of various phone calls and zooms with different members of STERIS, including HR. Overall it was an okay experience - the people are great!
