There was not really an interview process. It was more of a tour of the facility before the offer. They already had my resume gpa and stuff like that. Interview was like a chat

Simple. Asked about why you wanted to do research and what your passions were. Questions about potential skills you have were touched. Some professors would like you to know what is covered in coursework more than others. A lot of what you need is to learn as you go.
