The beginning of the interview process was fairly quick. I applied through their website, and I was contacted by a recruiter to set up an initial phone screening the next day. The phone screening went well, and the recruiter reached out the following day to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. That interview was scheduled within the next two weeks. After I completed the interview, I was told that I would hear back from the recruiter about any next steps or feedback. Two or so weeks went by, and I did not hear back from anyone, so I decided to send a follow-up email. The recruiter replied fairly quickly, apologized, and said they were still waiting to hear back from the hiring manager. They followed up again to let me know that they had already offered the position to an internal employee. It is great that internal employees are promoted, but they should not be interviewing external candidates if they know that position would be offered to an internal employee. Overall, it was disheartening not to have anyone reach out with an update on the hiring decision after my interview, and it seemed that if I did not reach out to check in about the decision, I would have never heard back from Salesforce. All candidates who apply should receive some sort of application update, via email but those who interviewed with a hiring manager should 100% be notified of a hiring decision as soon as a possible. This whole interview process left a bad impression on a company that I genuinely admired before.
