I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
Begins with a screening by an internal recruiter, fairly straightforward. If you pass that, you will be set up with f2f interview with an RVP (or a roundtable with several VPs), next an interview with a AVP (generally the boss of the RVP), if that goes well, you will be invited to HQ for an onsite interview/product presentation with a few VPs of varying seniority -
Goal: demonstrate that you can sell to C-Suite/VP-level contacts, effectively run a meeting (with initial discovery via open-ended questions), field objections and finally close. Your basic understanding of the products and how to position them is important, but for sales roles, they are not looking for people to be complete experts on their products (you will be trained). It is also important to know about the competitive landscape.
Recruiter missed multiple interviews only to tell me they have no positions only.
6 months later I receive an interview invite with pay $20k lower than originally discussed
Manager arrives late to the interview then cuts the time early. Company seems disorganized and difficult to take seriously as a so called leader in SaaS.

pretty easy interview. Had to do a case. It felt like it was just a formality and they put me up to it to fit into their standard processes. Not the best experience but it is what it is
