      DevOps Architect Interview

      Dec 4, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Austin, TX) in Dec 2022

      Interview

Chatted with another devops architect who passed me on to another round. Asked to prepare a powerpoint for second round related to CI / CD pipelines with some basic criteria around what the presentation should include. Despite being open with the recruiter and first round interviewer that I did not any Salesforce specific experience, everyone in the second round interview seemed confused. One guy specifically seemed to take delight in heckling my presentation. In retrospect I should have ended the interview early. The heckler's attempted "coup de grâce" was asking me the difference between REST and SOAP - he didn't have the courtesy to be on-camera, so I could not see his reaction however he was audibly disturbed and upset when I answered the question correctly. Truly a bizarre interview which served to lower my respect for Salesforce as a company. Also: After the heckling that I endured during the second interview, I was summarily ghosted by the recruiter. A pretty awful process overall.
