This was a long interview process that involved lots of rescheduling and last minute phone calls and interviews due to the CEO's busy schedule (including photo shoots). As part of the process the CEO asked me to review the overview of the planned project I would manage and provide a 30-60-90 day plan both of which made me feel a little uncomfortable as I had been working as an independent consultant and get paid for that kind of work, but ok, I provided feedback. After all that work and conversations with the top level, I got a generic response from the HR person that I wasn't the right fit. Then I saw the same job description updated with a number of the aspects of my feedback/notes on the project plan. In the end I would not have taken the job as the tenseness of the office culture and the sheer exhaustion of the employees was palpable.
