I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Samsara (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2019
Interview
Overall: No clear expectations around process stages and little to no feedback on extensive HW assignment
Interview included two tight 30 minute phone screens and then an onsite. After a successful onsite was introduced with additional parts of the process which included a very tedious assignment that included 3 parts mostly measuring ability to wire frame, communicate with customers, and think through product market entry strategy. Did not make it to the final phone interview with director.
Feedback after the submitted homework assignment was non-existent. Was simply told that I would not be moving on. This was a bit of a ball-drop on their behalf because I was not given the opportunity to speak to my submission and was not given actionable feedback as to what they were looking for.
As a candidate that showed positive signs up until this point, this was a shockingly negative experience. Be weary of the ridiculous expectations around the homework assignment and little clarity around submission expectations.
Direct to CPO after a round with lead Har person. Took 2 months or more in total. Generally pleased with how it panned out. Would recommend. Company on track for big things if you’re willing to work long hours.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Samsara (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2025
Interview
They would ask you basic questions in the JD, Learn IT Ops and how technologies like cloud and data are solving problems. The HR staff are friendly but they would test your knowledge of the job

Good and positive experience. Walking thru the process was very useful. Initial screening focus based on the experience one had. And feedback provided as a follow up. Enough time was provided to the candidate to answer the questions and ask any clarifications or follow up queries.
