I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Samsara (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2019
Interview
Samsara reached out to me on Linkedin. I went through four rounds. The first two were 30 minute phone calls with HR and another CSM. Then a 2 hour onsite (different CSM's- 30 minutes each) full of behavioral questions. Then there's a take-home assessment that takes about 3 hours to complete. After that, I finally got to the final round, which was a 30 minute phone call with the Director of Strategy and Growth. At the end it came down to the fact that my experience didn't fully match the role's requirements. This was a little frustrating because I had gone through the entire process being incredibly transparent that I did not do onboarding or training in my current role. The last couple questions were asking exactly that. I wish that would have been the first interview, since it seems they are only concerned with candidates having the exact experience they want. I was really excited to have gone through so many rounds, but disappointed that they're only focused on hiring trainers instead of people with the potential to grow with the business.

Question 1
Tell me a specific example where you had to train someone?
Multiple rounds
It would be weeks in between each one to so took forever, the pay was too low for requiring 6 rounds and a project
company seems to have this attitude that since they are a great place to work candidates should be willing to do multiple rounds of interviews for weeks at a time with no feedback

why customer success? how have you handled a difficult customer?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Samsara in Feb 2026
Interview
The director reached out to me directly on LinkedIn and urged me to apply. The interview process was clear. This consisted of a series of two individual interviews and then a mock presentation. All went well, or so I think, I never received any feedback. My negative experience comes from the fact that I never heard from a team member, even with a rejection notice, despite multiple follow-ups.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Samsara (Toronto, ON) in May 2025
Interview
Samsara is very efficient and doesn’t waste anyones time on scheduling and following up with interviews. Their team is clearly considerate and even has auto emails asking for feedback on their interview process. Had 5 rounds for their midmarket (scaled) CSM role. Rounds are: phone screening, hiring manager call, call with multiple hiring managers, take home test and review of said test, and final round is with executive leadership.
