I've seen the many positive reviews for Samsara on Glassdoor from current employees, but that was not my experience, which I think goes beyond typical growing pains of a growth stage startup.
Two internal recruiters reached out multiple times. I accepted one recruiter screening, the call seemed to go fine, and I was moved to the hiring manager. The woman I spoke to seemed to be in a huge rush. She grilled me the entire time without leaving any time for questions. It was pretty unsatisfying in that regard, but I got the distinct feeling from the beginning of the conversation that she couldn’t wait to get off the phone, so I thanked her for her time, and she replied that they would be in touch. Later I got a canned email rejection.
Three months later, the same recruiter reached out to me again about the same role (which had been slightly tweaked), introducing herself without any acknowledgement of previous contact, even though the thread was still visible on our LinkedIn messaging, which is where she reached out again. I responded to remind her that we had been in touch and that the team decided to not move forward. She did reply to acknowledge the mistake and said that I was not in their system, even though I received several automated emails from Greenhouse.
My experience with Samsara felt unprofessional overall and didn’t reflect any regard for my time. Hope they can work out the growing pains and recruiting kinks in the future.
