I applied for a software engineering position at Samsara and initially had a positive experience during the recruiter call. After the call, I was invited to schedule a technical interview, which I did.
However, just a few days before the interview, I received an email from the recruiter that the position had been filled, and my interview was canceled. It was frustrating and confusing, as it seemed the company was still scheduling candidates even though they either had an offer out or were in the final stages with another candidate.
This left me questioning their interview process and time management. I would have appreciated clearer communication, especially considering the time and effort candidates invest in preparing for technical interviews.

live coding session, create a md to html translator. It was all live with unique requirements making it more difficult than I expected using regex. The interviewer was not personable and it was a very uncomfortable experience
I made it to the technical screen and didn't proceed further. Recruiter call was the usual experience dive, comp discussion, and why you are looking for a job. The technical screen was a string parsing question.
