I dedicated three full days to the assignment and additional time in the evenings and weekends to prepare for the panel interviews. Unfortunately, just before the scheduled interviews, I was informed that the role had already been filled by someone further along in the process. While I appreciate the recruiter’s transparency, this could have been communicated earlier to avoid wasting significant time and effort. Candidates deserve timely updates on hiring decisions, especially after submitting extensive work. The experience left me feeling undervalued, and it reflects a process that could be improved by prioritizing candidate communication and respect for their time and effort
