Overall, it was a very weird interaction and I knew from the outset I had no chance. Recruiter reached out to me to set up a time to speak and asked me to call her at said time. When I called her, she told me she had me down for tomorrow at a different time. I explained to her that I had other work meetings scheduled around this interview and could not meet for a few days. Her response was that “I’ll just have to work you in,” and spoke to me at the agreed time. She then pulled up my file and asked me if I was a US Citizen, if I needed sponsorship, and if I would be willing to take a background check. Considering how I had already answered these questions in my application, I found it wasteful. We spent 5 minutes talking about my credentials. I never heard back from the recruiter after 4 weeks, but received my Dear John letter three days ago.
