The first round is an assessment center whereby you will assessed in groups.
One major thing to note is that, if you are not using a Samsung phone, they will have to keep your phone for the whole day without telling you beforehand. Their reasoning being " This is Samsung so". I found this very unreasonable and if you were to do this, at least let us know before we reach there.
They expect you to be early, but their team themselves came late. This did not leave a good impression. I could feel condescending vibes and some of the candidates were publicly shun for voicing out their opinions when asked.
Selection process was so horrible, it is like they are trying so hard to be different that it made it so inefficient. They blindfolded half of us and made another group not being able to talk. How do you even gauge someone without them using their voice to present themselves?
Overall, during the whole duration that I was there, I felt like I was being ruled under dictatorship. There were sarcastic and condescending messages thrown around. Passive aggressive nature also seems to be quite a norm here.
I wanted to just leave halfway during the session, just because I do not want to work in this toxic environment.

Horrible! At first, I had an online assessment, and then they asked me to go to their HQ for the next stage. When I entered their office, they confiscated my iPhone without informing me beforehand that devices from non-Samsung brands would be confiscated. They put me in a group and gave us several tasks. We were asked to debate with the other group while blindfolded.
They didn’t give us time to eat properly during lunch; we had to work on the tasks while eating, and I couldn’t even finish my food. The HR manager at that time didn’t wear a mask while everyone else did during the Covid period, and he was very arrogant and rude. He completely lost my respect. There is no point in having a title if your attitude is terrible.
They also didn’t respect Muslims, who are the majority in the country, because they held the assessment on a Friday. Muslim men had to leave the venue to perform their prayers, which probably caused them to return late and be at a disadvantage. It also reflected a lack of respect for Malaysia’s cultural and religious diversity, as the assessment schedule did not consider the Friday prayer time for Muslim participants.
The company was also terrible at time management. The assessment day was supposed to run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but it was extended until 6:30 p.m., and I ended up with a severe headache. I regret going there. It truly traumatized me. I hated every moment of that day, and I’ll never forget and forgive how they treated me. I haven’t purchased any Samsung products since then.

The assessment center takes too long and expect for a whole day assessment center.

The assessors are snarky all the time and I suppose this should reflect their working culture.
-Interesting case and design but,
it is obviously designed to make you fail.
If the company made it a point to design their assessment center to be this difficult, I assume it must be a toxic working environment.
