I previously went through an interview process with StC, and while the initial stages were seemingly professional and engaging (still a bit wonky due to the internal changes seen for the role I applied to), the interview and the post-interview experiences were disorganized. I was classically told I would "receive feedback by the end of the week—or at the very least, by the following week"—but that never happened.
Days/weeks passed without updates, and communication remained nonexistent even after reaching out; not a huge shock considering others are following this awful behavior. This lack of follow-through left me feeling undervalued as a candidate and questioning the company's internal alignment [something to consider if you're deciding on an offer with StC or thinking of applying for open roles]. Ironically, much of the interview process focused on values like time management, clear communication, and organizational excellence. Yet, the inability to follow through on a simple timeline directly contradicts the standards they claimed to uphold; again not surprised.
In reality, time kills all deals, and the way this process was handled signals a potential lack of preparation or a deeper issue with organizational behavior; even among senior staff members who have been with StC for YEARS. My advice, if you’re going to tell a candidate they’ll hear back by Friday or the following week all it takes is one simple email and a few minutes to do so. Timely communication is a sign of respect and professionalism, and failing to meet your own deadlines reflects poorly on your organization, the team, and you. A consistent and transparent hiring process not only shows respect for candidates but also reinforces the values you claim to prioritize as a company. So, c'mon, do better, or at least try to.
