I went through a few rounds and completed the take-home assignment and had scheduled the onsite super day. The recruiter emailed me the day before in the late afternoon cancelling the interview saying due to timing, the team decided to go with another candidate that wrapped up the process just the week before. It was very unprofessional to let me know they were cancelling so late in the day the day before the scheduled in-person interview. It would have been nice to know sooner after spending a lot of time working on the assignment and preparing for the interview. Overall a very poor and unprofessional experience.
