I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Scale in Sep 2018
Interview
I met with multiple people in-person before coming onsite for a round of interviews. Everyone was really friendly and made sure any questions I had got answered (about the role or company). Email response times were super fast and I was never left hanging or waiting for feedback. The whole process took about 3 weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Some of the questions I was asked revolved around my interest in Scale and the position. I was also asked to do some debugging on a laptop.
Had a call with the recruiter. Then had a 30 min call with the recruiter and a 45 min call with an engineer on the team. It was a live coding interview
Long but diverse process, 3 to 4 rounds with 6 to 7 interviews in total. Not too difficult technically speaking but you need to be adaptable and consistent. Covers lots of things.
Interviewers were very random and sporadic. Interview questions were super easy, was able to answer them all. Still got rejected. Both interviewers seemed disinterested like they didn't want to be there or they had already made up their mind.
