I recently received an email from the Head of Growth at Scale, expressing interest in my background for a Growth Lead position. The email highlighted exciting growth projects and cross-functional collaboration opportunities within their Generative AI Data Engine team. Naturally, I was intrigued and promptly replied, expressing my interest.
However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to disappointment. Despite the initial outreach, I received a rejection from HR shortly afterward. It left me wondering: Why did they waste my time reaching out if they had no intention of even considering my application?
While I understand that not every candidate is a perfect fit, the lack of transparency and follow-through was disheartening. As a job seeker, I value respectful communication and honesty throughout the process. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on both counts.
I encourage the company to improve its communication practices. If you’re going to reach out to potential candidates, please ensure that the follow-up aligns with the initial promise. Otherwise, it creates unnecessary frustration and erodes trust.
