waste of time — as a few other reviews have also mentioned, Scale gave me a verbal offer and then withdrew it for reasons they wouldn’t provide. After reading through the Glassdoor reviews, it seems like there's a lot of ghosting from recruiters as well as a few pulled offers.
process (detailed below) was lengthy and a huge waste of time, but particularly ironic as Scale emphasizes meritocracy + transparency (part of their company values) incessantly throughout the interview process, and then seems to end up ghosting many candidates.
for this role in particular, they made it very clear you'd be pulling frequent 80+ hour workweeks (4 different people I talked to throughout the interview process mentioned this)
Would definitely not apply again

Question 1
Recruiter call -> hiring manager case interview (mostly simple math) -> virtual onsite/panel of 5 interviews. Onsite is a mix of behavioral, SQL, and case interviews; they give you a detailed breakdown of this in advance.
A bit of an odd experience but fast moving and easier than expected with good recruiter help. I was recruited via LinkedIn dm and then had a phone call, technical, and subsequent super day
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Scale in May 2026
Interview
Was approached through LinkedIn DM by the HM and promptly ghosted after scheduling the intro call. Multiple follow ups yielded no results. Not sure what the company is looking for.
Phone Screen, Technical, Behavioral, then another Technical / Case. Not complete yet so have not received verdict. Process has been easy thus far with regard to scheduling and communication. Straightforward experience.
