I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at ScottishPower (Glasgow, Scotland) in May 2026
Interview
The ScottishPower assessment process began with an Assessment Centre in Glasgow, where I attended the afternoon session alongside around four candidates applying for the Engineering Health & Safety placement. After an introduction and networking activities, we completed a group exercise designed to assess teamwork, communication, problem-solving, leadership and collaboration. This was followed by a one-to-one motivational interview covering my interest in ScottishPower, the placement, Health & Safety, and competency-based questions on teamwork, communication, leadership, time management and overcoming challenges. The role also emphasised analytical skills, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), data analysis, report writing and project coordination. Following the assessment, I received feedback that I demonstrated strong technical knowledge during the group exercise, while my interview responses would have benefited from greater detail and more developed examples.

Interview
Very poor communication from them. Only heard my rejection in may after my initial application which was submitted over 5 months prior. They never updated the workday page to reject me so this email was my way of finding out and was my only interaction beyond an email stating my application had been recieved.
