Interview
I applied online and was able to schedule an interview for the following week. It was kind of hard to find the Employment Center since it's a little hidden, but eventually I found it. A few other people were there, some about my age (19) and others looked a year or two younger. They were dressed a little more casual than me, so I suggest if you go for an interview go more for the cleaned-up casual looked than wear a dress/dress shirt.
I was interviewed by a young girl maybe in her mid to late 20s. She didn't ask me much about myself or my previous experience, but did ask if I had read over all of the duties that the position has. She only asked about 8 questions that involved having to describe an instance where I dealt with the situation and how I dealt with it.
I had heard a lot of people that I know who had gotten hired so I didn't think that sea world had that high of standards. I still tried to the best of my ability to get the job. I was told that I would hear from them in 3-5 days through mail or phone. I got a letter in the mail saying I didn't get the job but that I could apply to other open jobs. Unfortunately, they don't tell you that all the jobs ask "Have you applied for these positions in the past 6 months" (ride ops was one of the choices) and if you select yes, then you become ineligible to apply for that position. It was a little frustrating. A couple weeks after me, a friend applied for the same position and got hired on the spot so I guess I wasn't what they were looking for.
