I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at SecurityScorecard (New York, NY) in Jan 2018
Interview
One of the most chaotic processes I have gone through in my career. The interview process took months for not even a senior position. I met with them multiple times, and every time they would go dark for weeks where I thought the process had ended, and then, they would re-surface.
They asked me to do an exercise to gauge my skills that basically asked me to re-design their entire platform. I'm always weary of doing work for free, and always think that companies should do neutral exercises that don't center on their industry on this type of assessment, but I was so interested in what they do that I did it anyway. I sent them an email with some background questions that went completely unanswered. I shoud've known not to continue, but I did. And I wasn't given a chance to present my work, I was asked to send it, and they would get back to me shortly to go over it. Shortly took 4+ weeks where I had assumed they had moved on with another candidate.
At this point I had already met the 3 individuals including two decision makers .... They asked me again for my portfolio, which they had seen alredy, and set up some follow up meetings. Additionally, they asked me for my references, and they called them!
They set up some additional meetings after talking to my references, with a new decision maker (that had not even started on the new role yet) and finally the CEO . And finally, they told me they wanted to set up a follow up meeting with me, but the day before, I learned via Greenhouse that they had decided to end the process, before they told me themselves. This whole process lasted 4+ months.
We deeply apologize for your experience! Sadly you were interviewing during a time of great transition of management in that area- but still no excuse. We have a new team onboard and just hired a new Director of Talent Acquisition and will addressing this issue immediately. Again- our apologies.
