I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2018
Interview
I applied online and a recruiter emailed me to setup a phone interview. I had my phone interview with the recruiter and my resume was shared with the team and I was asked to come in for an onsite interview. I interviewed with two people who were from the department one who would be on my team but then she left for Maternity leave and then one from a seperate team but I interviewed with no one that’d I’d be reporting directly to. The recruiter called me after my interview saying the director for my team wanted to offer me the role but wanted to have a call with me before she sent over papers, I accepted, talked to the director and accepted the role. Before I accepted, I learned the role was hourly. After I accepted, I had a “get to know you” call with my direct manager who had just been hired and I was starting to regret my decision, I met with no one who I’d be working directly with. If I had met the team I’d actually be working with, I wouldn’t have accepted the role.
Asked about current and prior retail experience and ability to pivot and work on multiple projects, teams, and tasks. They wanted an idea of my background and my experience in the interview.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sephora (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2023
Interview
I spent over a month interviewing for this position. I had five interviews (one each week with different employees in the organization). After the fifth interview I had a zoom call scheduled with the recruiter. The recruiter did not show up for the video call. I emailed her and did not receive a response. I emailed the hiring manager as well as got nothing in return. Two weeks later I received a generic email that they were “not moving forward with my application”. This felt extremely unprofessional considering I had invested so much time in the interview process. Also five interviews was excessive and unnecessary. This experience has completely changed my view of the company.

The girl was definitely not very nice and was going through interviews pretty fast. She did not seem to care to get to know the people she was interviewing. She was not a recruiter.
