I got the interview through a recruiter who was very nice about setting up the meeting with a Sr. Designer.
The woman interviewing me went through my online portfolio and asked me questions for about 40 minutes. Along the way she tells me she "loves" to stay very late at work with her colleagues, until 8 PM or later. That's a red flag right there.
At the end of the interview, she finally tells me they're not actually looking to hire anyone, they just want to look at people's portfolios. This was very frustrating b/c I was looking for work and I informed my recruiter, who was also under the impression that they were actually looking to fill a contract role. It is very unprofessional to pretend you are looking to hire people when in fact you're just looking to steal ideas from the portfolios of other people who have worked in the beauty industry for years.
