This was such an amazing, stress free experience. All of the reviews you read were correct, and it's astonishing to read on this company and watch every positive manner go into play. From the application process to speaking with the team members, every person I have encountered was very warm and welcoming. This all begins with them disclosing the job description, location, and the budget for this position. This is a vital portion within the application, before you exhaust any time trying to make an educated guess, or ruining any chances of employment by inquiring on the compensation rate- everything is laid out on the table for you. The ball is in your court and you decide what to do with it from there.
This honesty from the very beginning is such a great introduction to this company.
I worked with Melissa B. (HR recruiter), and like everyone you meet within this company, they genuinely wish the best for everyone. After I applied online, I was contacted by Melissa to schedule a 30 minute phone interview. She is very flexible and accommodating. The phone interview consisted of traditional questions that are asked ie current employment, past employment, job duties, and why are you looking to make a move. At the end of our conversation she summarized what we went over and let me know right off the bat what the next steps were. She gave firm time frames and stuck to each one. We went onto scheduling the in person interview where you meet with the appropriate members for the role you are applying for. For an assistant manager position, I met with SR. Regional Portfolio Manager and the Community Manager that you will be working with. I was sent an email with very detailed questions to prepare or consider for the interview, as well as what to expect that day. One high suggestion I have for everyone who is going into an interview, you can never over study. I created a excel spreadsheet including the sample questions from her email, and all questions I found on Glassdoor.
The day of the interview, I was given a call by Melissa to confirm the interview. ( A lot of companies don't even bother, this is such a nice little gesture).
The interview went great, especially if you are one who doesn't interview well- studying you spreadsheet will calm most of those nerves. Be respectful and true to yourself, this genuineness will shine through and will get you very far. At the end of the interview, they give you a timeline of when you should be expecting to hear back- and they stick to it.
I was offered the position 2 days after I interviewed.
I am now in the process of the screening and am very excited to be a part of the Sequoia family- who welcomed me with open arms!
