I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn who asked to set up an interview. I responded, and didn't hear from them for 3 weeks, despite following up. Once we did arrange an interview, before even asking questions to determine if I was a good fit or interested, they were talking about how they "wanted to get me in front of the hiring manager", which felt premature to me. I learned they were doubling their staff year over year, so it sounded like they were in a rush to grow for whatever reason. Also, they said they lived in the south, and a tornado was coming, so they might get cut off? Is this interview really worth doing during a potential tornado? They asked me what days would work to speak to the hiring manager, and I told them a few days over the phone. We agreed to "shoot for friday" (three days from that date) for a video interview with the hiring manager. Then they ghosted me. I followed up several times, via LinkedIn and their email. A month later, still nothing. Part of me is pissed off, but the other of me is worried that they were harmed in that tornado they mentioned. It did look pretty bad on the news. I may never know.
