Overall the interview process was fast and smooth yet challenging. Here is how it went for me:
Using LinkedIn, I connected with someone currently employed in the department I was applying to.
We had a quick call and he said he would referred me.
I quickly followed up with a cover letter, resume and proof-of-concept project to demonstrate my proficiencies.
Shortly after, a Shield recruiter reached out to setup my next call with the hiring manager.
A few days later I had a 30 call with the hiring manager. Quick, good convo. We covered a lot of ground.
Immediately after, the recruiter reach out again to schedule my next call with a Chief of Staff.
Within a few days I had a 30 minute call with the CoS on Xmas eve. Again, quick convo.
The first or second business day after Xmas, I received a email inviting me to come in for my final in-person interviews at Shield's SD office.
The in-person interviews were focused on technical requirements, company values and teamwork, followed by a presentation share out to members of the team I would be joining.
The interviews were fast-paced and appropriately challenging I'd say.
Within a few days I received an offer. We quickly negotiated it and I accepted.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful but they didn't pull any punches.
Make sure to do your homework, show up prepared and rehearse.
