You get an email from a recruiter for an initial phone interview. They ask general questions about you and your experience and why you want to work there. Then they email their decision.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shipt (Birmingham, AL) in Dec 2019
Interview
Had a wonderful phone interview before the coding challenge was sent to me. The coding challenge was tough but for the most part, I completed every step that was asked of me. I found it odd, however, that the description for the position I applied for was primarily front-end but received a challenge that was 100% back-end focused. I did not get the position because (I think) my code was not clean enough. Was a bummer but have heard great things about the company and have contacted multiple individuals that work there that love it. Will be hoping to get another opportunity soon! Make sure you ask for feedback whether you get the passed the challenge or not!!! It was extremely helpful.
I applied and had a phone interview a month later and never heard anything back. It is near impossible to get anyone on the phone or through email at this company. After my phone interview, I sent a thank you email to my recruiter and never heard a word back. I sent another email about a week later, asking for the status of my application/interview and still nothing. I spent a lot of time pursuing an internship with this company, I wrote a very detailed cover letter, spent a lot of time perfecting my resume, went and saw them at a career fair, and spent a ton of time preparing for the phone interview. It would have been nice to even get a rejection letter or some response. This company needs to hold recruiters more responsible for completely ignoring their intern/job candidates.
