The job firstly included an online series of tests. Which were pretty straight forward (typical way of weeding out a % of applicants) I got invited to a interview day consisting of a electrical and mechanical test. A oversight of the operations by finally an interview. On the day I turned up 10 minutes early for a 1pm start. However after waiting till 1:10pm, no one had turned up so I asked the receptionist what was happening. Turns out the management decided to go on a lunch break. So had to wait till 1:45pm. So, that's already a great impression on how the company values its employees. So. With that in mind, I already made my mind up - I wasn't going to accept the job regardless. But I thought I'd proceed for the interviewing experience. Unfortunately on the day, I was suffering from a undiagnosed illness at the time. 3 hours into the process I had my interview, which was by far the most uncomfortable experience I've had in a job interview. The questions were vague, not relating the role. I usually feel comfortable once the interview begins. Lucky to have had decent interviewers, until this point. (to be fair being in pain didnt help) Upon hearing close friends experiences, the role is very tedious. Terrible hours, cleaning under things, bad on your back, despite them saying there's room for progression you're sold a lie. "Seemingly if your face fits operation there" quoted by a few current employees and former employees I personally know. The pay isn't great for shiftwork and night work. The role isn't really much technical engineering work of such, again from what I've heard. The biggest thing for me is the people there. I was such a bizarre place. I'd say it would've been a totally different experience if the right people were interviewing the candidates. They seem obnoxious and arrogant. But bare in mind, I probably wouldn't of hired myself on the day if I was sitting in the opposite seat. But what I would've been is more professional, and polite if i were in their shoes. I certainly would've at least apologised for turning up 45 minutes late, in fact. I wouldn't let that happen!! Insane lol.
