I applied online. I interviewed at SimpliSafe in Feb 2019
Interview
Nothing special since they are not technical guys, those left in company just maintain current products util someone acquire them and thus make profit. so there are nothing challenging in technical questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SimpliSafe
Interview
Recruiter screen -> Hiring Manager 30 minute call -> power day to meet the team. Everyone was pleasant. The questions were typical. There was a short live coding part in codesandbox where they allowed ample time to solve a very easy "filter this list and sort it" problem that barely required 2 code changes to pass.
Short intro phone call with recruiter, followed by a 2 question technical assessment (very easy difficulty; anyone who is a programmer could figure them out). After passing, follow up call with engineering manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Compare and contrast two programming languages that you know.
First step was a phone call, second was a fairly basic take home test, final step was a technical manager interview. After the manager interview they said they would get back to me within a few days. After about a week and a half they told me they had chosen someone else.
