I applied online in the morning and I was called back by a recruiter the same afternoon. Prior to speaking with the recruiter, I had also received a video assessment email request, which I hadn't had a chance to complete prior to speaking with the recruiter. While the conversation was originally off to a good start, it was clear the recruiter did not look at my resume in-depth prior to connecting with me and exhibited a lot of biases as he pulled up my LinkedIn. He seemed more interested in taking digs at me than genuinely learning why I would be interested in the role. He also seemed to be stuck on asking me what I wanted to make when it was clear what the base hourly rate was. Said recruiter clearly wanted to embarrass me and imply I was over-educated for the role. He also came off as very insecure and potentially sexist (he was basically negging me, especially once he pulled up my LinkedIn profile and potentially saw what I looked like. I've never hung up on a recruiter but I was really saddened by his lack of professionalism and empathy. He should have just done his due diligence or not circled back if he was going to be super judgmental from the jump.
