I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn. The process overall took about 4 weeks. 1st interview was with the hiring manager. Discussed functional programming and distributed systems. After the interview, received feedback from the recruiter that they'd like to move on to the next round. This consisted of a take home assignment that wasn't too bad. After submitting that assignment, got word that they'd like to move on to the next round which was a live coding technical round. This round was interesting as it wasn't your typical LeetCode interview. It comprised of talking about the take home assignment as well as adding a new feature to it live. This also involved talking a little about cats-effect and why I would use it. I was told by the recruiter what to expect for this interview so felt well prepared. The next round was 2, 1 hr interviews. The first was a system design interview and wasn't too hard, the next was a behavioral interview with the hiring manager. After 1 week, I received a message from the recruiter via LinkedIn that they would not give me an offer. I was a little surprised. Overall, I really liked this type of interview format and it was extremely refreshing compared to your typical LeetCode interviews. The recruiter helped me be extremely well prepared for every single interview which helped tremendously.
