      Flight Attendant Interview

      Apr 25, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Vancouver, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Vancouver, WA) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Attended a recruitment session... Reading everything on this site helps a lot because everything is pretty much spot on. I got there later than I wanted (~5:45 PM) due to traffic, but a lot of people were also just getting there at the same time (about 30 people total attended this session). There were 4 senior flight attendants leading the session. They started right at 6 PM, going straight into requirements for the position, pay, overall what to expect and how training will go. They let us know right away that training would start just barely 4 weeks from that day so we ended up losing a few candidates due to that late of a notice. They also noted that if you cannot make this training session then you cannot still interview and try to get into the next session. You will have to attend a session farther out and interview then. After they presented their overview they gave us about 15 minutes to decide if the position is right for us. The next part of the session was the 1 minute speech on why you think you'd make a good flight attendant for Skywest. Focus on skills associated with working with the public as well as safety. Do not speak of your personal life or family or go off topic. It's nerve-wracking on the spot but like I said, reading other reviews and knowing what to except gave me time to really think and come up with a decent speech. After everyone goes they give us a 45 minute break while they put together a list of people they want to interview face to face. They post this list on the door and if you're on it you can come back into the room and if not you're free to leave and can reapply after 90 days. The face to face was much easier than the initial 1 minute speech. Situation-based questions and an overview of your prior work experience. They tell you you'll receive an e-mail within 2 weeks of their decision. I got mine within 4 days, and leave for training in just 3 weeks!

It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
