I applied and submitted my resume on 8/14/16 and was directed to the page where the open interview sessions were being held at. I attended the Los Angeles group session on 8/30. The process was fairly long considering it's an open session so anyone who wants the opportunity to interview is welcome to come. The session started at 6pm I was there by 5:15pm just to avoid being late. In this particular session you were directed towards the back where there was one line that led to two separate rooms. In front of each room were to Skywest FA's calling everyone one up from the line. There's no particular order in which you are called its just a matter of who is next. I was called walked towards the second room greeted by the lovely FA. Make sure to give a strong hand shake and warm smile. She asked for my resume, then continues to ask two questions which were one, are you here by an employee referral and two, have you worked for the airline before. From the she told me to go ahead an enter the room to get measuresd. In front of me was one girl, she was measured but unfortunately did not meet the height requirement so she was taken into another room. When it was my turn I was told to take off shoes to get measured. Everything was fine was told to go ahead and grab a seat. Just a friendly reminder ladies remember to wear plain shoes for when it's time to be measured. I took a seat immediately chatted up with all the candidates and waited for 6pm. And yes socialize peeps! They are observing you interact and as well it helps ease the your nerves. Once 6pm hit the FA's went to the front of the room, explained the companies history as well as the job description and requirements. After that they had an open Q&A session and the took about an hour overall. Please please be aware of what everyone is asking. These poor FA's had to answer the same question multiplie times and it doesn't look good on you if you're asking the same question for the 5th time. Before giving us a 15 minute break the explained that once we can back in we were going to have to do a 60 second speech of what would make us a good flight attendant. Use those 15 minutes to prep for the speech and focus on your timing and point. They offer water so make sure to grab a glass to clear your throat. When the break is over they will start by saying the speech session will begin and will remind everyone to keep it short and to the point. They will say to keep your age and family out of it to make the process to by quicker. They don't call in any particular order so just be mentally prepared for that. A lot of people went off topic and did what they weren't suppose to do and that is take longer than 60 seconds and speak of their age and family, and a lot of us also had the jitters up there but that's totally ok just be honest say your nervous and fight through that speech. Nothing better than showing them you can handle yourself. Our session took a while since there were easily 70-90 candidates in the room. Once we were all done we were given a 45 minute break and told to come back after that time period and look at the list that they'll post to see who has made it to the f2f interview. I was extremely lucky to make it and entered the room one last time and waited to be called for my f2f. This process goes fairly by fairly quickly since there's only a few of you left at this point. From our room there were about 20 candidates who were chosen and in the second room there were around 15. My name was quick to be called, answered some scenario questions and a few other questions regarding the position and was told I'd be contacted with a response via email. I'm still waiting and keeping my fingers crossed.
