      Flight Attendant Interview

      Jan 31, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2017

      Interview

I filled out an online application back in December 2016, but I didn't have an open interview held nearby until January 2017. It was held at a nice hotel and when you first walk in, you hand over your resume and then get your height taken. A lot of the reviews on here said that you need to mingle and talk to others around you to make a great impression, but I ended up sitting in an empty row of chairs and staying quiet. The entire process began at 6 PM and a Skywest employee gave an overview of the company and what was expected. After that, you have a short 15 minute break to decide if the job is for you. A couple of people actually left. When you come back in the room, you have up to 60 seconds to explain WHY YOU WOULD MAKE A GREAT FLIGHT ATTENDANT. A lot of people on here have left reviews saying "Why you want to be a flight attendant," but in my interview they specifically asked "Why do you believe you would make a great flight attendant?" They ask you to not go off topic, not to give your age, and not to share your family history. So this means to share your skills and your work experience and how it would be a great fit for the position. Don't get to the front of the room and say out loud about how nervous you are- a few people did that and they didn't advance. After everyone has had their chance to go to the front of the room and speak, there is another break. My break was around 45 minutes and afterwards there is a list of names posted on the door of the room. If your name is on the list then that means you advance and get to have a one on one with one of the Skywest recruiters. There was around 30 people in my group and I was luckily one of the 7 people to advance! The interview process was honestly relaxed. In each corner of the room the one on one's were conducted. During the one on one, you are asked about your previous job and given scenario questions. You are also asked to read a practice flight announcement. And now I'm awaiting my email on whether or not I advance to training. All in all, good luck! :) If you're on this website, you're already starting your interview process off right! :) I walked in feeling so nervous and uncomfortable as if I didn't fit in, but as long as you have practiced your 60 second speech and at least act like you're confident, you should be fine. :)
