I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (Austin, TX) in Jul 2022
Interview
I was contacted by a corporate recruiter based out of Seattle. After an initial phone conversation with her, I spoke with the Austin Talent Acquisition Specialist. From there, I had five interviews with potential team members, the hiring manager, and two upper management members. All of this took place over the course of three weeks. Each interview was a bit different—job experience, personality/culture fit, opportunity to ask questions. But each one felt like a conversation more than an interview. So, it was time consuming, but enjoyable and worth it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked tailored questions about my past experience and how that would translate to my new role, asked me to tell them about myself (personal interests and professional background), how I balanced all my duties at my last job, why I am interested in Slalom, what sort of processes I follow (specific to my role), what’s a project I loved working on and one I didn’t like and why, and my working style.
Mostly standard consulting interview questions: ask about your past work experience, what were the difficulties and how you overcame these difficulties, etc. Overall process took a little bit longer than expected due to difficulty to get interviewers' availability.
Recruiter screening focused on background and fit, followed by a hiring manager interview assessing technical and consulting skills, and a final director round evaluating strategic thinking, communication, and overall alignment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Santa Monica, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Initial HR interview then interview with hiring manager and then never heard again from the company. Reached out multiple times for follow up on whether moving forward or not, and never got a response. Job posting still on.
