Awkward. Is the only word I can think of to describe the "2-month" interview process. Yes, 2 months. What began as several chats with HR, quickly lead to 4 interviews and a portfolio review. All went great, I was told after each interview that the team really liked me, and to stay tuned for next steps. That's when the issues started... HR told me they'd contact me on a specific date (2 weeks) with more detail on the role. When I heard from HR it was positive, but a little confusing. I was told there was a hiring freeze, BUT, the team wanted to make me an offer, AND, make sure to keep them up to date on whether or not I was interviewing with other companies. So this kept going on, every 2-weeks I was told the same stuff again and again. At one point I was even told that the "offer" that was being prepared for me would make me "very happy" when I saw it... I never saw an offer. After my 1st interview I even started receiving 'Requests' to connect on LinkedIn from people i'd never even spoken to before, excited for "me to join the team". Next chats with HR (the same person) felt off. They didn't seem that prepared, weren't calling on days scheduled to call back and even more worrying, I was told that the hiring freeze that was company wide until January 31 but mid-January I see the same HR person welcoming "new hires" to the company on LinkedIn... A couple more week past and I get a very abbreviated voicemail. Something about Slalom never even having the resources to fulfill this role... 4 interviews and a portfolio review, and talk of an offer... Just seemed fake. Looking at Slalom interview reviews on here, it would appear that i'm not the first person this has happened to...
