I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slalom (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2015
Interview
Consisted of 2 phone screening interviews initially. Followed by 3 in person interviews (on separate days; 2 with peers, final one with practice lead). Pretty standard questions about past project experiences. The whole process took two months (which seemed excessive to me), but I was warned in advance. Although long, it was a very positive experience and I got a great feel for the company during the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to complete a task with ambiguous requirements.
Mostly standard consulting interview questions: ask about your past work experience, what were the difficulties and how you overcame these difficulties, etc. Overall process took a little bit longer than expected due to difficulty to get interviewers' availability.
Recruiter screening focused on background and fit, followed by a hiring manager interview assessing technical and consulting skills, and a final director round evaluating strategic thinking, communication, and overall alignment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Santa Monica, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Initial HR interview then interview with hiring manager and then never heard again from the company. Reached out multiple times for follow up on whether moving forward or not, and never got a response. Job posting still on.
